What we do

Every day, medical practices produce progress notes, reports and letters. We develop software to support this work.

Under Swiss data protection law, health data is classed as sensitive personal data. That is why we take data protection into account from the outset.

Our first product is HygnoShield.

HygnoShield

Closed beta – participation by personal invitation.

HygnoShield is a web-based service that de-identifies medical documents before they are shared. Instead of being blacked out, detected identifying details are replaced with readable, numbered placeholders such as [PATIENT_1] or [DATE_1], so the text remains easy to follow. Before downloading, the professional using HygnoShield reviews the result and then releases the document.

PDF, DOCX and TXT – in German, French, Italian and English.
Processing on our own servers in Switzerland, in memory only – the fact that no document is written to a storage medium is ensured by the system’s architecture.
No automated method can guarantee complete detection – review and release therefore remain with the professional.

About us

Hygno GmbH was founded in 2026. It has its registered office in Tafers and is entered in the commercial register of the canton of Fribourg.

The company is led by a doctor who runs a practice and a software developer responsible for development and architecture. Our software grows out of day-to-day work in the practice.
